DESCRIPTION:\nKimberly Blair shared at church on Sunday\, April 19 about he
r missions involvement in Tanazania\, Africa and her upcoming trip this su
mmer (June 25 - July 9). It was an amazing story. If you weren't there\, b
e sure to read "The Details" below.\n\n\nKimberly prayed that God would en
able her to raise her full support ($3\,500)\, so that she could help her
sister and best friend raise theirs. God answered her prayer within two we
eks!\n\n\n\nThe good news is that most of her sister's support has come in
\, so Kimberly is now focused on helping her best friend raise $3\,500 to
get to full support. Good News Church people have contributed $600. We'd l
ove to raise as much as we can.\n\n\n\nIf you'd like to help\, you can giv
e online at https://www.goodnewschurchga.com/give (on the drop down\, clic
k on MISSIONS).\n\n\n\nP.S. The mountain in the background of the first ph
oto is Mt. Kilimanjaro. The village where Kimberly and the team are going
sits at the base of the mountain.\n\n\n\n-----------------------\n\n\n\nTH
 E DETAILS\n\n\n\nKimberly shared that\, after spending 14 years as a stay-
at-home mom (which is a in itself a mission field)\, she went back to teac
hing and was hired at Perimeter Christian School (PCS). Kimberly begin hea
ring about a school in Tanzania that PCS helped support. Our own Ken Grave
s was part of the first trip to purchase the land and help develop a visio
n for this school. Kimberly desperately wanted to go but knew with young c
hildren\, it was not the right time. Finally\, in 2023\, God opened the do
or for her to go. It was an amazing experience!\n\n\n\nTeachers from PCS h
ave been going for over 20 years to train\, equip\, and support the teache
rs\, with some PCS teachers even staying and teaching.\n\n\n\nThis is amaz
ing... Students in Tanzania take a test in fourth and seventh grade. If th
ey fail\, their schooling is over. Before PCS got involved\, only three st
udents had ever passed the test. Since PCS began training teachers\, not o
ne student has failed the test! Wow!\n\n\n\nGetting into our school there
is like the golden ticket out of poverty. The students get a Bible based e
ducation taught by loving teachers\, lots of curriculum and resources\, an
d two meals a day while there. That is sometimes the only meals those chil
dren get.\n\n\n\nFor the first week of Kimberly’s upcoming trip\, they
’ll do workshops and training for the teachers. During the second week w
hen the children are on campus\, Kimberly and the missions team will mento
r teachers by observing their lessons\, giving feedback\, and modeling tea
ching by organizing and teaching lessons and giving ideas for using the su
pplies that they’re bringing. Would you believe that a pencil is a prize
d commodity! Kimberly’s team will be bringing plenty of pencils\, and th
e children will feel like it’s Christmas!\n\n\n\nKimberly’s team and P
CS partners with UBORA (a non-profit ministry that Perimeter Church helped
launch with this ministry to Tanzania and education as its primary focus)
. UBORA has purchased more land to build a secondary STEM school and const
ruction has begun! They had to start by building a wall to keep the elepha
nts out! The school there is having such great success\, that Tanzanian go
vernment officials have begun moving to the area to have their children at
tend the school!\n\n\n\nKimberly shared that the opportunity to worship an
d teach with these amazing people is one of the greatest experiences of he
r life. After all the mission trips she’s done\, this is the one where s
he feels like God is able to use the teaching abilities He gave her to mak
e a true difference\, telling children about Him and helping them rise abo
ve the situation they are in and hopefully become leaders in the village w
 here they are.\n\n\n\nKimberly’s sister\, Alissa\, is a sixth-grade scie
nce teacher\, and this will be her first trip. Kimberly’s best friend\,
Elizabeth\, is a music teacher and is making a return trip. In fact\, Eliz
abeth was the first music teacher to go and impacted their program so much
that now they have started an actual music class!\n\n\n\nAlissa and Eliza
beth both teach in public schools and are not able to send letters to thei
r students’ families\, so Kimberly knew it would be much more difficult
for them to raise their support. Now that Kimberly is fully funded\, she w
ants to be able to help them raise support. That’s where Good News Churc
h comes in\, and we can help!\n\n\nAgain\, if you'd like to help\, you can
give online at https://www.goodnewschurchga.com/give (on the drop down\,
 click on MISSIONS).\n
